Massive Leverage — How to bring change in 5 seconds!?

First of all, try to understand “Change is not about capacity” Think of a change you want to bring in yourself, but that is not going the right way.

To bring a change let’s understand the Pain and Pleasure Principle:

You need to understand that your mind needs pleasure, it is running away from problems. It is not your fault it is natural. Our brain is functioning as it was years ago in the stone age, I mean, survival, it does not want to take any risk. But we will trick our minds for a deserving change. So let me tell you there are 4 levers on our decision depends.

Short term pain, short term pleasure
Long term pain, long term pleasure

Short term pleasure >>Long term pain

We enjoy watching entertainment, comedy videos, etc… We care about long-term success but we don’t take action according to it.

Short term pain>>Long term pleasure

Short term is good: You become more efficient when you get short term stress, and you know it is good for you, it will motivate/inspire you to take action.
People like Elon Musk, Dhirubhai Ambani are examples of this. They don’t care about short-term pain, they have a long-term vision that inspires them to work. I am not saying that I come into this category, but many of us can. The problem is that we run from our problems, it is because our brain gives priority to survival more than that to risk. But try to understand:
Short-term pain is more inspirational than long-term pain.

If you aren’t able to change yourself till now, don’t worry, don't think that you are incapable of changing yourself or you don't have will power to do it. So for you, I repeat again “Change is not about capacity”.

We just have to use the levers,

Let’s understand Neuro Association for this: The reality you are watching, is developed by your own mind. It is the play of neurons.
It is not easy to understand, let me give you an example:

If someone is a smoker, don’t you think they aren’t aware of cancer? They are, of course, they also know the other effects of doing that. Now, what if, you take them to the city’s cancer hospital? Yes, they would get pain by spectating patients making noises for pain, their condition. Now the cigarette that was before associated with pleasure, now that is associated with pain.

Many people change themselves with this method. We know that facts, we are just looking for an experience near to the imagination. Let’s get more with another example of a teen.

A boy experienced the same, he was a mobile phone addict and he used to play video games in it for hours. He loses his all addiction in a jiffy. But how? His elder brother got selected in an MBBS college, he got so much attention at that time, we all know the value of a doctor in a middle-class family. By seeing this younger brother who was addicted to games, suddenly felt FOMO(fear of missing out). But at night they had a conversation, elder one politely said “brother you are more wise than me, but you are wasting a lot of energy in your phone. It’s never like you couldn’t do anything!”. By listining this his younger brother loses all the addictions in a jiffy. After that incident, whenever he tried to touch his phone, he felt pain.

When you have never done it, you will always find it hard. But, if you start and somehow finish it, you will realize, it was not that hard. I have experienced it, you can check my previous blog for that I will give that link at the end.

Say this to yourself: “Just next moment, I don’t want to live like this”. Change is guarnteed. You will automatically take action.

I have one more real story for you, American obesity transformation, they obese and then, when they feel insecure, and have the pain of doing nothing. This pain helps them to change them. Let’s see the last practical tip from the book “Awaken the great within” by Anthony Robbins.

Susan wasn’t getting time for herself after his first baby. She started gaining 5–6kg weight a year. She was aware of the side effects of that. She and her one friend tried to diet many times but failed. They realized that they have to increase the pain to get change. The method they used was very efficient. They announced, in their group that, they will eat dog food if they break the diet. They used to carry a can of dog food everywhere. Whenever they get the urge to eat something in their office, they just see the ingredients of the can. After some days, they changed themselves. And it is unbelievable. They also joined gym to lose weight afterward.

So how, by using this method many people brought a change in themselves. And again, you can also because,

Change is not about capacity
